How To Improve PowerPoint

Your assignment is to get in your groups and read the articles in your list. Each person should only have to read one article. Take notes on your article that you will post on your blog.

Your assignment due Monday is to write a blog post with the notes on your article. Make sure to tell me which article you read.

On Monday in class you will get into groups and create one document from all of your blog posts that lists your recommendations for things to do and things not to do with a PowerPoint presentation. Be sure you list reasons for each of your recommendations.

Make sure one person from each group posts your document to Stroodle.

You are going to read three articles about the dangers of PowerPoint. For each article you read you will write a 100 word summary of the article:

PowerPoint Blog Assignment #3

These are your next two PowerPoint assignments. They are due Monday, February 25th.

Assignment #1
Think of all the PowerPoint presentations you've seen in your life, and compare what you've seen to the recommendations from the readings you've read this week. Write a 300 word response to some or all of following questions:

• Do you think PowerPoint is mostly used well?
• Why or why not?
• What would you keep? What would you change?
• If you were teaching a class, how would you structure your presentation?
• Would you use PowerPoint?
• If so, how?
• If not, what would you use?

Assignment #2
Pick a classmate's blog that read the articles that you did not read. Write at least a 100 word comment in response to their blog post. Do you agree or disagree? What do you think about the summary?

PowerPoint Reading Assignment #2

This assignment is due Friday, February 22.

Depending on what group you are in, you will read two articles and write a 300 word summary. Be sure to focus on what arguments are similar or different from the previously articles you have read.

PowerPoint Reading Assignment #1

Is PowerPoint good or evil? This is the topic of your first two PowerPoint reading assignments. You will read four articles total(2 from each category) and write a 300 word summary about what you read each time. Here are some questions that will help you focus your summary. You do not have to specifically address each of these questions. I have only provided them to help get you started.

• Is PowerPoint a bad presentation tool? why?
  
• Does PowerPoint help you better understand what the presentation is about?
• Why do some people dislike PowerPoint?
• Why do some people like PowerPoint?
